This set of five duos for two violins was composed for Lucy Russell and Andrew Roberts, members of the Fitzwilliam String Quartet. 1. Harebell Double 2. Title Please? 3. Lucy Loves the Violin 4. Dumbledor Double 5. Sweet Bramble Bush The final Sweet Bramble Bush is a cheeky folk-like tune, composed  after listening to Lucy playing Scottish tunes in my local pub. The two ‘Doubles’ take the solo violin pieces Harebell and Dumbledor Dances and add a second voice - I often likes to expand or rearrange my music for different forces. Lucy Loves the Violin is an alphabetical code piece, created by mapping each of the letters of the title onto a grid of 12 semitones; presented as a two-part canon. In Title Please? the audience is invited to come up with a suitable title for this playful  theatre piece. One audience member suggested ‘Married Life’, another ‘Granny’s Biscuits’ so anything goes.
