Written in December 2010 for the clarinettists Fraser Langton and Calum Robertson, this piece is a study for two equal instruments. I have no idea what they are talking about but the music is at times playful, rude, cheeky, harsh, wistful and lamenting, often with a strong rhythmic drive and sometimes with a little humour. The first performance took place in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in May 2011 as part of the "Plug" annual contemporary music festival.
