About
This instrumental version of the German-language Leonhardiberg Mass by Ernst Bacher, already published for mixed choir and male choir, is characterized by its immediately catchy and folksong-like melodies and harmonic sequences. The eight short, strophically composed mass sections were adapted to the instrumentation for brass quartet. The score includes eight individual parts (flugelhorn 1 and 2 in B flat, tenor horn in B flat, horn in F and E flat, trombone in C, tuba in C, baritone in B flat) for more tonal variability. A mass for many occasions that goes to the heart! The instrumental recordings in the audio sample were made during the performance of the mass on November 7, 2021 in the Leonhardikirche. Performers: Wind ensemble of the Stadtkapelle Murau under the direction of Jürgen Brunner.
