Written for the ensemble of the same name, ANTARES showcases each of the four musicians in their own movements, surrounded by outer movements presenting the ensemble as a single entity. The name Antares refers to the super-giant star in the Scorpio constellation. The music here is celestial, often evoking a cosmic sense, and a feel of stellar beauty and stagnancy.
