About
Some of the most famous numbers from Puccini’s works, suitable for both professional musicians and students, have been arranged for cello and piano by Giacomo Fossa with the soloist’s line edited by Sandro Laffranchini, first cello of the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala. The selection covers all Puccini’s creative arc, from his first great success with Manon Lescaut to La bohème, from Tosca to Madama Butterfly, ending with the experimental works La fanciulla del West and Turandot, the composer’s last masterpiece. To these aria transcriptions have been added two true rarities from among the works of the Maestro from Lucca: his youthful Salve Regina and his Calmo e molto lento.
