Julia Purgina’s new string trio (set of seven variations) was commissioned by the styriarte Festival for the Kreisler Trio Wien. This piece is a welcome addition to a small list of original works for string trio. The music of our time series features compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries. Its editors are in most cases the performers who premiered the works or have worked closely with the composers. All works in this series are playable as well as enjoyable for professional musicians, amateurs and their audiences.
