Prepared by H.C.Robbins Landon from previously unavailable sources, this is the standard edition of the most joyous of all Haydn’s masses. (He wrote it as a thank-you to Prince Esterházy for taking the hint from the Farewell Symphony and giving all his musicians a much-needed holiday.) Full of vitality and abounding in tunes, it gives a wonderful lift to any concert programme.
