Intermediate. This volume of 6 original trios for three saxophones (in the same key*) provides enjoyable and instructive material for intermediate saxophone players. It takes the students through common rhythmic styles (swing, rock, jazz waltz, funk) and figures in a variety of common keys. Blues harmonic and rhythmic styles provide excellent material for accidental, rhythm and rest reading. This volume is approximately grade 4-5 standard. Also in the "Blues for" series are four duet books and two solo books. These pieces were written for saxophones in the same key; a supplement is included for tenor saxophone in Bb (Part 3).
