The colourful sights and sounds of a walk by the river are depicted in these varied pieces for violin and piano - including a darting kingfisher, weeping willow tree and even a toad doing the tango! The tunes also provide educational opportunities for techniques such as double stopping and harmonics, as well as changes of time and key signature. I hope they will be enjoyable and useful additions to the violin student’s repertoire. Ruth Sellar
