About
Sing, Memory is one of three works that are related to the myth of Daphne and Apollo, the other two being for solo guitar (Apollo Toccate and Daphne Prelude - the latter piece providing some of the material for Sing, Memory). At the end of the myth Daphne is changed into a laurel tree, and this music imagines her reflections and recollections and is concerned with the idea of memory and its gradual transformation. It was first performed at the Villa Lill-Kallvik in Helsinki in 2013.
The piece has been recorded by Rody van Gemert and Assi Karttunen on the Pilfink label.
