Adapted from the slow movement of his cello concerto, the profound and expressive ELEGY has become one of Ranjbaran’s most frequently performed recital works. This arrangement for clarinet by the composer makes full use of the instrument’s range, flexibility, and nuanced color palette across long and mournful lines, set above a deeply affecting, quasi-Romantic piano accompaniment. Suitable for nearly any occasion, clarinetists the world over will be eager to adopt ELEGY into their repertoires
