About
As in the Latvian composer's first composition for this formation from 1977, the 2nd wind quintet alternates freely notated improvisatory sections with rhythmically sharply accentuated passages. The younger of the two sister works was composed in 1982 and is dedicated to the memory of a deceased friend.
