In this florid setting by Kelly Via of a quiet and haunting Celtic folk tune, By Kells Waters, in the Dorian mode, this melody is first featured in the alto clarinet (or basset horn/bass clarinet 2), followed with many lyrical lines shared throughout the ensemble. An excellent piece for a meditative moment on your program as well as for developing ensemble blend, tone and balance.
