Moritz (Maurice) Moszkowski was a German-Jewish composer, pianist, and teacher of Polish descent on his father's side. Ignacy Paderewski said: "After Chopin, Moszkowski best understands how to write for the piano, and his writing embraces the whole gamut of piano technique.
