After taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest, the vocal group “Cosmos”was invited to open the following year’s national selection show with a song specially composed for the event. Since the following year’s Eurovision took place in Finland, the text was composed as a phonetic play between the Latvian and Finnish languages, without any semantic meaning.The melody contains themes from the Latvian folk song “Seši mazi bundzinieki” (Six Little Drummers), which symbolically corresponded to the six Cosmos singers. The bridge of the piece quotes Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Te Deum, which is the anthem of this international contest.
