"Veni, creator spiritus", "Lacrimosa", "Alleluja" - these three sacred songs by Valentin Silvestrov have at least no linguistic problems, yet they place the highest demands on the up to 15-part fanned-out choir. "As if the (traditional) words had just appeared on the lips of living people" - this is how Silvestrov describes his credo: "My music is at the same time an answer and an echo to what already exists." In order to bring this to resonate again commitment and devotion from the singers is required.
