This accessible ballad, penned during Thad's later years in Denmark, is a rubato study in full-band expression. It opens with fortissimo brass, transitions to a quiet midsection showcasing saxes/woodwinds, then recaps the strong opening before going out very quietly with soprano (or alto) sax and trombones only in the final bars. No improvised solos are required. Standard jazz ensemble plus 5th Trumpet; all saxes have opt. doubles: soprano (alto), alto (clarinet/flute), tenor (clarinet/flute), tenor (clarinet) & bari (bass clarinet).
