Here is the latest musical for young voices from Tom Long and Allen Pote. This amusing 45-minute "attempt" to present the Old Testament begins with a promise to cover the entire history in ten minutes. Needless to say, they dont get all the waythrough - even after revising their estimate to twenty, then thirty, then forty minutes - but theres plenty of humor and moving moments as the kids encounter the lessons and eternal truths found within the stories of Adam & Eve, Noah, Moses, Davidand many more. Entertaining moments and meaningful content are thoughtfully balanced. Set and costume requirements are minimal, and the mostly unison vocal lines are accessible for mostchildrens and youth choirs.
