About
A selection from the thrilling and expressive soundtracks John Williams wrote for three movies dealing with the adventures of the archeologist Indiana Jones. It starts with the popular 'Raiders' March' which runs as a thread throughout the whole selection. The listener is immediately brought to the subterranean vaults from the film 'The Temple of Doom': in 'Slave Children's Crusade' we hear the children toiling in the mines of Pankot Palace. 'Short Round's Theme' is followed by the quieter 'Love Theme' from the first film 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. The chorale and the cor anglais (alto saxophone) solo at the end were borrowed from the third film 'Indiana Jones and the last Crusade'.
