From Piae Cantiones (1582), this setting of “Gaudete” is in a progressive style, yet well suited to the medieval melody. Its energy is derived from the accented rhythms and dance-like percussive elements, all adding tothe joyous nature of this piece. With 4-player percussion accompaniment (score and parts available separately). Also available for TTBB divisi. Duration: ca. 4:45.
