Uses: Advent

Scripture: Zechariah 9:9; Zephaniah 3:14

With cheerful abandon, this carol “re-tooling” is filled with sparkling grace! A new text for Advent brings this well-known Englishcarol into liturgical use earlier in the season and connects Old Testament prophecy with Mary's jubilation. This unique perspective swirls with a dance-like theme that heightens the joyful spirit of the anthem. From the openingdrone heard in the men's part there is innovation and beauty. Some optional a cappella moments offer sonic contrast with the lighter unison and 2-part episodes.
