The Nazis turned music into a weapon of propaganda and used it especially to channel consensus and control the masses. In order to achieve this, the Nazis did not hesitate to alter history and introduce a certain mystical element in order to support their nationalistic and racial ideology of music. This book follows the stages involved in constructing this ideology, which had already started during the Weimar Republic. It led to the repression of innovative, progressive and avant-garde artistic currents and, at the same time, the physical elimination of the people at the head of these movements and their supporters.
