The romantic Czech composer Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904) is probably best known for his symphony No. 9, “From the New World”. However, apart from the nine symphonies, he also composed a great deal of chamber music, vocal works and works for solo piano. Out of the three overtures written by Dvořák, arranger Jan Rypens has selected this one. This work gives a stylish note to any performance and is considered a musical challenge from the Romantic repertoire.
