Arranged by Henry Lazarus. Thomas Arne wrote a large number of operas, masques, glees, catches etc., as well as some chamber music. He composed When Daisies Pied to words from Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost in 1740 and it was introduced into a production of As You Like It at Drury Lane Theatre that year. The arrangement with obbligato was made by Henry Lazarus (1815-1895) the great Victorian clarinettist, and published by Chappell in 1888. Lazarus played for the Philharmonic Society, the Italian Opera and most of the provincial festivals and was much in demand as an obbligato player.
