French clarinetist, Cyrille Rose (1830-1902) superbly arranged Carl Maria Von Weber 's (1786-1826) Clarinet Quintet in B flat major, for Clarinet and Piano. Having studied under Hyacinthe Klosé at the Paris Conservatoire, Rose won many prizes at the institution and went on to teach many prolific clarinetists. The Fantaisie Et Rondo, extracted from Weber 's original Clarinet Quintet, and arranged for Clarinet and Piano by Rose has frequently been included in the set works list at the Paris Conservatoire. Suitable for advanced clarinetists, Fantaisie Et Rondo exploits the instrument through uses of flourishing semiquaver passages, complex rhythms, varied articulation, ornamentation and use of a wide tessitura, among other aspects. For all advanced, aspiring clarinetists, Rose 's arrangement of Fantaisie Et Rondo for Clarinet and Piano is an exciting addition to the repertoire.
