Glashütte is a town in the Eastern Erz Gebirge. A Passion setting dating most likely from just before 1700 was found in the archives of the town Kantorei. In the "Glashütter Passion", the tradition of the responsorial Passion, which goes back to Luther and Johann Walter, was brought to its final flowering in a work in which certain details already point to the 18th century, too.
