This is a technically demanding piece in which the clarinetist has to produce percussive sounds, timbral transformations, micro-intervals and multiphonics. Later in the piece use is made of the clarinetist’s own voice. The cellist participates in the dialogue with richly varied techniques bringing contrasting views and aspects to the discourse.
