The world heads toward yet another monumental event, as we look toward the year 2000. In celebration of that happening, composer Robert Washburn creates this vibrant tribute to the occasion. Instrumental choirs spar with motifs tossed to and fro, always with a look toward a wonderful flow of melodic content. Before a return to the spirited main theme, there is a lovely, dignified, and well-crafted Andante section. And, as with the calendar time, it concludes with a rush to the 'happening.'
