The edition compiles all known chorale arrangements for organ by Johann Michael Bach, father of Johann Sebastian’s first wife Maria Barbara. Herein Johann Michael proves to be a thoroughly selfreliant composer, whose influence must have been felt by the young Johann Sebastian Bach. Especially parttime organists will find a very versatile and readytouse repertoire – and also interesting insights into the Middle German organ music during the 17th century.
