With Obscuritas, Enjott Schneider opens up fascinating sonic spaces between dream and reality. In Xaver Eckert’s arrangement for tenor hammered dulcimer, the work unfolds its unique effect through long resonances, shifting mallet timbres, and the contrast between struck and plucked playing. Percussive effects and glissandi expand the sonic spectrum and make the piece an engaging challenge for highly skilled hammered dulcimer players.
