The suggestion to write a piece for organ and piano came from Bernhard Epstein (Piano) and Thomas Schmitz (Organ). They played the first performance in the Markuskirche in Stuttgart on September 24, 1995. The shape of this piece rather corresponds to a sonata of the Italian Baroque. It is in one movement and consists of several contrasting parts with different tempi and several “affects”. Sincere thanks to Rainer Oster for his commitment in connection with the piece.
