Bass Guitar

The Bass Guitar has a lower pitch than the acoustic or electric guitar, and commonly only has 4 strings as opposed to the 6 found on other guitars. Since the 1960s the bass guitar has widely replaced the double bass in popular music as the bass instrument in the rhythm section. The bass guitar can be heard in many genres including rock, heavy metal, pop, country, reggae, blues, and jazz. Famous bass guitar players include Paul McCartney, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Flea, James Jamerson, and John Entwistle.
