Film & Television, Film Music Publications from 2019

This year the film industry has produced an abundance of box office successes, as well as providing us with some great soundtracks. Many of the sheet music albums for the latest popular films are now available to buy including music from Aladdin, Rocketman, Yesterday, Captain Marvel, and Avengers: Endgame. Also available are three Disney classic film songbooks including Snow White, Pinocchio and Dumbo.

Aladdin: Songs from the Motion Picture Soundtrack

Aladdin is a musical fantasy film from Walt Disney Pictures. A live action remake of the original 1992 animated film of the same name, the plot is based on the eponymous tale from One Thousand and One Nights. Alan Menken was brought in to compose the score after also being a contributor for the original animated film. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have also composed a new song for this film in collaboration with Alan Menken titled Speechless. They have also edited the lyrics from the original songs to suit this new remake. The new songbook features eight songs from the film including 'Arabian Nights', 'Friend Like Me', 'One Jump Ahead', 'Prince Ali, 'Speechless' and 'A Whole New World'. The album also includes six pages of full colour artwork from the film.

New Marvel Superhero Soundtracks

Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame is the final installment of the popular series of films based on the Marvel Comic superheroes The Avengers. This film is one of the most expensive films ever made, and has become the highest grossing film of all time, breaking numerous box office records. The score was composed by Alan Silvestri, which includes themes from the previous Avengers films, and also includes references to other Marvel film soundtracks. The sheet music album contains eight pieces from the Alan Silvestri composed soundtrack including 'The How Works', 'Main On End', 'One Shot', 'Perfectly Not Confusing', 'Portals', 'The Real Hero', 'The Tool of a Thief', and 'Totally Fine'. This souvenir folio features composer-approved piano solo arrangements and five pages of colour photos from the film.

Captain Marvel

Another film from the Marvel franchise, Captain Marvel is based on the superhero character Carol Danvers from the Marvel Comics series. It is the first female-led superhero movie from Marvel Studios. Composer Pinar Toprak is the first woman to score a Marvel Cinematic Universe film. This sheet music album contains eight songs arranged for piano solo from the soundtrack. Including 'Breaking Free', 'Captain Marvel', 'Entering Enemy Territory', 'High Score', 'Let's Bring Him Home', 'New Clothes', 'This Isn't Goodbye', and 'Why Do You Fight?'.

Rocketman

Rocketman is a biographical musical film based on the life of musician Elton John. The film chronicles Elton John's life from his early days at the Royal Academy of Music, to his massive successes as a musician with lyricist Bernie Taupin, to his struggles with addiction. The sheet music album below contains twenty songs from the soundtrack. Includes hit songs 'Bennie and the Jets', 'Crocodile Rock', 'Rocketman', 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road', 'Tiny Dancer', 'Your Song' and many more.

Yesterday

Yesterday is a British romantic comedy, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis. The film is about a struggling musician who after an accident finds himself the only person in the world who remembers the songs of the Beatles, and subsequently finds success in recording and performing their songs. The new sheet music album contains sixteen Beatles classics including 'All You Need is Love', 'Back in the U.S.S.R.', 'Help', 'Hey Jude', 'Let It Be', 'Yesterday' and many more.
