Akusmi is the project of French-born, London-based composer Pascal Bideau. Terra Incognita brings together musicians including Sarathy Korwar, Dudú Kouate, Marysia Osu, Lluís Domènech Plana and Daniel Brandt for an expansive set that draws from Afrobeat, Highlife, spiritual jazz and contemporary electronics. Across seven pieces, Bideau combines layered percussion, hypnotic repetition and bright melodic arrangements into music that feels exploratory without losing its rhythmic pull. Rather than leaning on abstraction, the album stays grounded in movement and atmosphere, balancing intricate ensemble playing with open, celebratory energy.
