Bytes revisits the collaboration between GLOK (Andy Bell) and Timothy Clerkin, opening it up to a diverse group of remixers including bdrmm, Richard Sen, Tom Sharkett, Legowelt, Xylitol, FROID Dub and Yu Su. Rather than polishing the originals, each contributor approaches the material as raw matter to be bent, fractured and reimagined.

Across the collection, the remixers draw out different emotional and rhythmic threads, pushing the tracks through dub pressure, acid-flecked propulsion, kosmische psychedelia and shadowy ambient space. Familiar motifs are stripped back or exaggerated, vocals are isolated and recontextualised, and grooves are reshaped into forms that feel restless and unpredictable.

Despite the variety of approaches, the release holds together through a shared spirit of experimentation and trust in instinct, extending the original collaboration into new, more volatile territory. It’s a remix album that stands on its own terms, driven by personality rather than formula.

The artwork is also reworked, with Nottingham-based illustrator Nick Taylor offering a geometric yet human design that mirrors the record’s hands-on, anti-algorithm ethos.
