EDGES – the band led by guitarist Guillaume Vierset – is back with a second release that shakes up the musical codes. “Morning Mister Protocol” plunges us into a crazy world that drifts between glitter and violence, distilling a rebellious yet casual jazz-rock-punk that breaks a few rules.

In March 2024, Guillaume entered the studio with Dorian, Mattéo and Teun Verbruggen. The result is twelve breathtaking tracks with an ambiguous mix of jazz improvisation and rock that has not been equalled since the 70s. The album opens with the title track. The order of the songs is no accident, it tells a story. With “Morning Mr Protocol’, the guitarist delivers a sharp criticism of society with bitter irony.

The vibe of the album swings between dark and rebellious melancholy (“Morning Mr Protocol”) and acidic pink irony (the track “Bisou Bisou” is a nonchalant toe-tapper). EDGES – as the name implies – is walking on borders, always on a tightrope. Don’t try squeezing them into a box! EDGES is not a band that can be easily filed: neither jazz, nor rock, nor punk, nor pop; it’s above all a sound, a vibe!
