With 11 original songs, Blues Of Desperation is another highlight in his overwhelming career so far: "It's bluesy. And it's big, and it's got a cool title. It was written in Nashville, recorded in Nashville. It was recorded mostly as a power quartet - two drums, bass and guitar. It was a lot of fun. The album sounds energetic and what rock music needs to be - less precise and thought-out. Of course the blues roots are there, but this record will need to be played loud. I want people to hear my evolution as a blues-rock musician," says Bonamassa, "somebody who isn't resting on accomplishments and who is always pushing forward and thinking about how music can evolve and stay relevant."
