Ivan Blomqvist, pianist, synth wizard and producer has established a clear voice on the Scandinavian music scene through projects such as Rohey, Mosambique, Neon Ion and the debut album 'Nu minns jag' released on Jazzland Recordings in 2020.
The sequel 'Brother', is a mix of jazz, electronic and ambient music. The album is suggestive, minimalistic, meditative and carries a red thread of melancholy through the songs. Ivan's productions combine acoustic piano, analog synths, organic beats, rustic timbres in a heartfelt and future-oriented expression.
For this album he has invited guest musicians of the highest class. On the second track "Jonas", we get to hear Daniel Herskedal's lyrical tuba playing in a ten-minute long undulating song. Karl Nyberg (saxophone) and Lyder Roed (trumpet) both contribute with their unique expression on, among others, "Tomheten" and "Slapp inte farmor" and through the album Lise Sorensen's fragile lines lie like a beautiful veil.
