Renowned French pianist and composer Any Emler delivers his fourth album for La Buissone titled 'No Solo', a program of piano pieces interspersed with contributions from a number of invited virtuoso musicians.
In a sense, this is a solo piano recording, but with the piano intermingled in part with other instruments, sounds and voices, creating an international journey full of influences without borders. Difficult to categorise, the music here lays between classical, jazz, and world music (African and Indian). Among the contributors are beatbox practitioner Herve Fontaine, Kora player Ballake Sissoko, flutist Naissam Jalal, and electric guitarist Nguyen Le.
