About

The National Youth Jazz Orchestra at the Buxton Opera House in 1990, recorded straight to C120 Cassette on a Sony Walkman Professional. Featuring Dick Morrissey, Chris Dagley, Dennis Rollins, Martin Shaw, Ian Wood and directed by Bill Ashton. The album was released in memory of two of the stars of the recording, the saxophonist Dick Morrissey and drummer Chris Dagley.

The music was typical of NJYO's repertoire of the time, featuring all of their fine writers/arrangers of the period: Mark Nightingale, Paul Higgs, Alan Hare, Harry South and Chris Smith. The recording quality isn't fantastic but Bill Aston felt that music of this quality deserves to heard and cherished.
