This album represents John Law's ninth album for 33 Records. Law is regarded by many as the UK's premier contemporary jazz pianist.
He is joined on the re-working of diverse standards (from both pop and jazz genres) by saxophonist Sam Crockatt, bassist James Agg and drummer Billy Weir. Compositions explored on 'Re-Creations Vol. 1' vary from Nick Drakes "River Man" and Stings "Fields of Gold" to Miles Davis's "So What".
