For her latest album, on Hev-Het Tune, Barbora Kolarikova and her band, Babokalyps, invite you to join them on their Vel'ky Voz. It is their Big Dipper (it can also refer to a cart or wheel-barrow) as the music draws inspiration from constellations and from the day to day events that life throws at us. Hence Big Dipper constellations on the cover image and, implied, that of a two wheeled vehicle.
Barbora, leads on vocals and Babokalyps - Lucia Petakova, piano, L'ubomir Pavelka, drums, Peter Kravec, acoustic and electric guitars, with guest Vladimir Darmovzal, bass guitar - are going after some big ideas. They do this using a mix of Jazz, Folk and World Music elements and Rock style beats.
The numbers translate as - (1) Valley Girl, (2) End of summer, (3) Undesirable dream, (4) At the dawn, (5) Blame it on the hangman, (6) SOS, (7) When you were a child, (8) On my way here, (9) The Big Dipper. There is only Slovakian text in the booklet, which should not be off putting as Barbora and Barbokalyps are great communictors!
