About

'Tokyo's Bad Boys' is the second album by Dutch saxophonist Joris Posthumus on Challenge Records. It was inspired by musical encounters he had with Japanese jazz artists when he travelled to Asia to tour and record. The whole album is packed with speed, technical bravura, emotions and surprises. He met the band on a festival in 2011 while touring through China with the Dutch band State of Monc. The line-up is the classic jazz trio of piano/drums/bass with three saxophones. All songs written by Joris (expect track 6, by Jacob Bedaux), and as always melody is key. Personnel: Joris Posthumus (alto and soprano saxophone), Yuichiro Tokuda (alto saxophone), Yuki Nakae (tenor saxophone), Shunichi Yanagi (piano), Satoshi Tokuda (bass), Gaku Hasegawa (drums)
