About
Unsung trumpet heroes Joe Magnarelli and John Swana, each a Criss Cross veteran , battled to a draw on the stirring 1998 opus PHILLY-NEW YORK JUNCTION, an album so good that Gerry Teekens couldn't resist bringing them back for a 2003 rematch. Supported by the same formidable cast of characters (Eric Alexander, tenor sax; Joel Weiskopf, piano; Peter Washington, bass, and Kenny Washington, drums), Magnarelli (right channel) and Swana (left channel) exchange ideas with brotherly competitiveness and deep swing - there isn't a dull moment.
