The Bad Plus

The Bad Plus is an American jazz quartet from Minneapolis. The band was originally formed as a trio by pianist Ethan Iverson, bassist Reid Anderson, and drummer Dave King. Iverson was later replaced by Orrin Evans, who played with the band until March 2021. The current lineup consists of Anderson and King, along with guitarist Ben Monder and saxophonist Chris Speed. The band's sound takes inspiration both from jazz and rock, playing original music as well as interpretations of pop, indie and rock songs, as well as classical works like Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring'.
