Soft Machine (Group)
Soft Machine are an English rock band formed in Canterbury in 1966 by Robert Wyatt, Kevin Ayers, Daevid Allen and Mike Ratledge. A key band of the Canterbury scene, they were one of the first groups to embrace the sounds of progressive rock and jazz fusion. Soft Machine are often considered by critics as a highly influential band despite their relatively small commercial success.
