Mahavishnu Orchestra
The Mahavishnu Orchestra were a jazz fusion band formed in New York City, led by English guitarist John McLaughlin. Though the lineup changed frequently, the first incarnation - featuring McLaughlin with Billy Cobham, Jan Hammer, Jerry Goodman and Rick Laird - received acclaim for its fusion of Indian classical music, jazz and psych rock.
