Ben Crosland
Ben Crosland is a highly respected British jazz bassist, composer, and bandleader whose career spans more than four decades. Originally a guitarist and drummer, he switched to bass in the late 1970s and developed his jazz career through the Wavendon Summer Jazz Course, studying with and later assisting the legendary Jeff Clyne. Since becoming a member of the Huddersfield Jazz house band in 1987, he has performed with many of the UK's leading jazz musicians and has led a succession of acclaimed ensembles, including quintets, quartets, octets, the chamber jazz trio Threeway, and the Ray Davies Songbook Quintet. Crosland has released numerous albums of original music, and has been closely involved with the Marsden Jazz Festival since its founding in 1992.
