New Release Round-up,
Jazz New Release Round-Up - 5th August 2021
This week’s jazz releases include Manchester improvisational trio Revival Room, jazz-meets-pop octet OK Aurora, and pianist Benjamin Croft’s sophomore record Far and Distant Places.
The group Revival Room is a trio of Manchester improvisers - organist Adam Fairhall, Mark Hanslip, and Johnny Hunter - making their debut as a trio after being close members of the Efpi Records circle for some time already. Invoking the somewhat antiquated sound of the organ trio, the group’s music combines bluesy melodies to more obscure avant-gardeness.

Recently signed to Ubuntu Music, OK Aurora are an eight-piece jazz-pop ensemble, releasing their studio debut this Friday. Combining a rich horn ensemble with keys, guitars and tender vocals, Only In Autumn is a thoroughly enjoyable release.
Available Formats: CD, MP3, FLAC, Hi-Res FLAC
Pianist and film composer Todd Cochran’s latest release features him playing through a selection of songbook classics, reimagined by his trio featuring bassist John Leftwich and drummer Michael Carvin.
