The 505E-HC is the first flute in the Quantz series and is Pearl's basic model. The design of this versatile model enables beginner flautists to concentrate on the essentials of performance, making the flute more fun and enjoyable to play. This model also features Pearl's 'Brezza' headjoint - the newest addition to the Quantz series, which offers more refinement and fullness of sound throughout the flute range. The 'HC' model features a Heavy Crown to give greater control over the instrument, which will really help to carry the player forward through grades.
The flutes in the 505-series are made from nickel silver and all of them are silver plated, giving the instrument its shine and at the same time protecting the material from corrosion. 'Quantz' flutes are also provided with French pointed key arms, once considered solely the domain of handmade flutes, and which are now provided on every model of Pearl flute. French pointed key arms afford unmatched quickness of speed, offering increased stability and enhancing the quality of the mechanism which is a unique feature amongst student flutes.
The foundation of every Pearl flute is their patented 'Pinless Mechanism' which eliminates the problems of traditional flute construction - protruding needles that snag clothing and allow easy entry for perspiration and body acids. Also unique to Pearl is their 'One-Piece Core Bar' construction which adds strength to the entire mechanism.
The most striking feature of these flutes is their sound. Pearl has a revered comittment to accuracy of pitch, flexible articulation and a beautiful, projecting sound. The beauty and subtlety of sound in the Quantz series is continually remarked upon by artists and is further enhanced by their dedication to rock solid intonation.
